Gitly is a desktop application that runs entirely on your local machine. We built it with privacy as a core principle.

Data Collection

Gitly does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:

Your code never leaves your machine.
No account or sign-up is required to use Gitly.
No analytics or telemetry data is collected by Gitly.
No cookies are used.

AI Provider Usage

When you configure an AI provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, or Groq), your staged diffs are sent directly to that provider's API to generate commit messages. This communication is between your machine and the AI provider — Gitly does not proxy, store, or log these requests.

You are subject to the respective AI provider's privacy policy and terms of service.

Local Processing

Gitly runs entirely on your machine. All processing happens locally — there are no external servers involved beyond the AI provider calls you initiate yourself.
